Kathleen Cook
Weaver Kathleen Cook is a Ramona resident with over 20 years experience on the loom. Anyone who weaves commands respect in the world of art, and Kathleen has earned her accolades for adding elements of nature with other fibers for interesting textures and smells. Kathleen has been weaving for more than twenty years. Her artwork is seeded in a life-long love and personal study of art, along with yearly weaving workshops with well-known artisan. She weaves local native plants with yarns, adding beads, fabric, and other materials as design, intuition, and whimsy dictate.
Each of her botanical weavings is a celebration of the natural beauty which surrounds us, expressing the intricate balance of life and the interconnection we all have with each other and with our environment.
Her work has been featured at the Mission Trails Regional Park Visitors’ Center and she was just awarded an Artist-In-Residence endowment through the Volcan Mountain Foundation’s Rubenson endowment program for 2020.
